Hobby as a Profession.

The challenges that arose were usually a direct result of riding every day. As soon as the children were old enough, the ponies had to be transported to little shows. That was a reason for Anton Böckmann to construct his first horse trailer. So he not only made a virtue out of necessity but also a profession out of this virtue!

Because of all the enthusiasm for riding, two enterprises were formed: Böckmann Stables and Böckmann Fahrzeugwerke [Vehicle Manufacture]. This kept each of his four sons involved with his “hobbyhorse”. 

Gilbert stayed with riding and manages the sport and training stables today. Tönne concentrated entirely on breed-ing in the stallion stables. And last but not least, Klaus and Roger Böckmann found their calling in the construction of transport solutions. And even the third generation is successfully competing and is already firm in the saddle.
